A resident for years at the park, 'Pedro' the Mangrove Heron has perfected the art of fishing in our billabong using bread given to him by visitors.

He takes the bread and puts a few pieces in the water just off the beach. He then crouches down and waits for the fish to eat the bread. Sometimes he has to adjust the bread as it starts to float away.

When the fish come and nibble on the bread, Pedro springs up and grabs the unlucky fish. This has made him famous, appearing on TV shows such as 'The Great Outdoors' and 'Totally Wild'.
